UNESCO was looking for a partner to create a ‘virtual visitor experience’ highlighting the impact of its “Empowering Local Radios with ICTs” project; a project aimed at helping 32 local radio stations in seven African countries to acquire ICT skills, improve programming quality, achieve an increased range of local news coverage, and promote gender equality and financial sustainability.
I designed an interactive and immersive storytelling experience using a wealth of supplied multimedia content – video, audio, visual, written – to tell the story of the project over 12 chapters. The project was a success and resulted in the project being able to continue for another two years and expand to a further 17 radio stations and three additional countries. Additionally the project was shortlisted for a BIMA award.
